1942 WW2 Aerobatic Fighter Experience
This is the real deal – nowhere else can you can experience flight in this classic fighter trainer in the Sydney area.
Step back in time and experience the exhilaration of high “G” aerobatics and combat manoeuvring in this genuine 1942 fighter pilot training aeroplane.
The aeroplane you will be flying in, the T6 Texan, was used by the United States Army Air Force during WW2 to train fighter pilots for frontline combat. Also known as the SNJ by the US Navy and the Harvard by the Commonwealth Air Forces, almost every Allied fighter pilot of the Second World War received their training in the T6.
Meticulously restored to pristine condition, our beautiful T6, “Miss Fire”, is just as she was when rolled out of the factory in 1942.
Before each flight you will receive a thorough briefing on the manoeuvres you will be performing and on all safety aspects of the flight.
Immediately after take-off you will feel the exhilaration from the power of the classic 600 horsepower Pratt & Whitney radial engine as it pulls you through the sky performing aerobatics such as the loop and the famous “victory roll” that is synonymous with fighter pilots of the Second World War.

Blue Mountains Reconnaissance Mission
This mission takes you over the Burragorang Valley which is one of the few remaining wilderness areas close to Sydney. It is located within the Greater Blue Mountains Heritage site.

Seated deep in the Valley is Lake Burragorang which is surrounded by spectacular escarpment walls making it the perfect environment for conducting your mission.
Aerobatics is available as an optional extra for this mission

COASTAL RECONNAISSANCE
This mission takes you over the Illawarra escarpment for a low level reconnaissance along the Illawarra coastline. The flight tracks along the beaches from North Wollongong to the Sea Cliff Bridge near Stanwell Tops. Aerobatics is available as an optional extra for this mission

Southern Warbird Adventures offers you and a friend the opportunity to fly together in a warbird formation just as the Allied fighter pilots did during the Second World War.

Before booking your flight, please read the following information:
In accordance with CASA Civil Aviation Safety Regulation 132.150:
· The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any safety standard recognised by CASA; and
· The aircraft is not required by CASA to be operated to the same safety standards as an aircraft used for regular public transport or charter operations; and
· Travel in the aircraft is done at the passenger’s own risk; and
· A more detailed briefing about the safety of the aircraft will be given to the passenger before the passenger boards the aircraft.
If the person making the booking for this flight is not the passenger, please note that the operator of the flight is required to provide the passenger with a detailed briefing – to include the information contained herein – prior to the passenger boarding the aircraft.
